Daycares and preschools on Golf Course Extension and Sohna Road
Finding daycare on Sohna Road, Gurgaon or Golf Course Extension: society daycares, fees, traffic, and what to check in newer centres.
Golf Course Extension and Sohna Road are full of newer high-rise societies. Many have a daycare inside the complex or just outside the gate. That's convenient, but convenience isn't the same as quality. Check each one as carefully as you would a centre across town, and plan around the traffic.
Who this area suits
These corridors have grown quickly, with large gated societies and plenty of young families. Many parents work in Cyber City, on Golf Course Road or further afield, and commute daily.
For a family here, the choice often comes down to three options:
- A daycare inside your own society
- A centre in a nearby sector or on the main road
- A centre near one parent's office
Each has trade-offs. Our guide to daycare near home or near office helps you weigh them.
What fees look like
We don't have a published median for Golf Course Extension or Sohna Road specifically. Across Gurgaon (officially Gurugram), Kiddenz's listings show a median of about ₹55,400 a year, ranging from roughly ₹16,000 to ₹2 lakh.
For a local reference point, Kiddenz shows a median of about ₹1.1 lakh a year in Sector 51. Our guide to Sectors 45 to 51 and South City covers that cluster in detail.
Society daycares and main-road centres can price very differently. Ask every centre for the full first-year cost in writing. Our guide to preschool and daycare fees in Gurgaon explains what to add up.
Society daycares: what to check
A daycare a lift ride away is a real gift on busy mornings. But being inside a gated complex doesn't make a centre safe by default. Ask:
- Who runs it? The society, a resident, or an outside operator renting the space?
- Who staffs it, and are they background-checked? Ask to see the policy.
- How is the entrance controlled? Society security at the main gate is not the same as a locked daycare door.
- Who can collect your child? Ask to see the pickup authorisation form.
- What happens in holidays? Some society daycares close or run short staffed during festivals and summer.
- What's the backup if the main caregiver is ill?
A good answer is specific. "Two trained caregivers are always on site, and a third covers leave. Only names on your form can collect your child, with photo ID."
Our daycare safety checklist has the full list.
Newer centres: what to check
Many centres here have opened in the last few years. New can be great: fresh spaces, modern equipment. It also means less track record.
- How long has the centre been open? And how long have the lead teachers been there?
- Is the building finished? Check for open construction, loose fittings or unfenced areas nearby.
- Is the outdoor space ready and enclosed?
- Can you speak to a current parent? A confident centre will usually offer.
- Are policies in writing? Sick policy, fee refunds, incident reporting.
Our list of daycare red flags covers warning signs to watch for.
Traffic and the daily drive
Traffic on these corridors can be heavy at peak hours. A centre that looks close on the map can mean a long, stressful drive.
- Try the route at drop-off time, with your child in the car if you can.
- Avoid U-turn traps. A centre on the wrong side of a main road can add real time.
- Ask about transport. Who drives, is there an attendant, and how long is the longest ride?
- Plan for sick days. Who can reach the centre quickly at midday?
Often a slightly less impressive centre inside your society beats a better-looking one across a busy road. Weigh it honestly.
Hours for working parents
Many families here need full-day care. Ask:
- What are the earliest drop-off and latest pickup times?
- How is late pickup charged?
- Is there a half-day option for work-from-home days?
- Do they offer after-school care for older siblings?
A quick plan
- Visit your society daycare first. It's the easiest to compare against.
- Add two or three centres within a short drive.
- Use the same questions on every visit.
- Follow our complete checklist for choosing a daycare.
- Do a trial day before you enrol.

Frequently asked questions
Is a daycare inside my society safer?
Not automatically. Society gate security helps, but check the daycare's own entrance, pickup rules, staffing and background checks. Treat it like any other centre on your shortlist.
What are daycare fees like on Sohna Road?
We don't have a published median for Sohna Road itself. Citywide, Kiddenz shows a median of about ₹55,400 a year, and nearby Sector 51 shows about ₹1.1 lakh. Ask each centre for the full first-year cost.
How do I judge a daycare that's only just opened?
Look at the people more than the building. Ask how experienced the lead teachers are, read the written policies and ask to speak to a current parent. A trial day tells you a lot.
What if my society daycare closes in the holidays?
Ask about holiday dates before you enrol, and plan backup care early. Options include family, a nearby centre that takes children for single days, or a holiday camp. Our guide to backup childcare has ideas.
