Preschool fees in Gurgaon range from about ₹16,000 to ₹2 lakh a year, with a median of about ₹55,400, based on Kiddenz's Gurgaon listings. Where you live changes the number a lot. On top of the yearly fee, expect one-time charges such as admission, which can add thousands more in the first year.

The citywide picture

Kiddenz lists 567 verified preschools and daycares in Gurgaon (officially Gurugram). Across those listings:

  • Median annual fee: about ₹55,400
  • Lowest: roughly ₹16,000 a year
  • Highest: roughly ₹2 lakh a year

The median means half the listed centres charge less and half charge more. It's a better guide than an average, which a few very expensive centres can pull up.

These figures mix preschools and daycares, and listings change. Use them to set expectations, not to judge a single centre's quote.

Fees by area

Location is one of the biggest drivers of price. Kiddenz's sector pages show the spread clearly:

AreaMedian annual fee (Kiddenz)
Sector 51about ₹1.1 lakh
Sector 30about ₹72,800
Citywide medianabout ₹55,400
Sector 92about ₹32,400

A family in Sector 51 might see a typical fee more than three times higher than a family in Sector 92. Our area guides go into more detail, starting with Sectors 45 to 51 and Dwarka Expressway and New Gurgaon.

Premium and budget examples

Two real examples show the gap.

At the premium end, the Kiddenz page for Klay shows annual fees of about ₹1.49 to 1.95 lakh. There's a one-time admission fee of about ₹28,000.

At the budget end, a franchise preschool in Sector 41 listed on SchoolsUniverse charges about ₹35,000 a year. Its admission fee is about ₹5,000.

Neither price tells you about quality on its own. A higher fee may pay for longer hours, meals, bigger spaces or a lower ratio. A lower fee may simply reflect lower rent. You only find out by visiting.

What drives the price

When two centres quote very different fees, it's usually down to a few things:

  • Rent and location. Space usually costs more on main roads and in high-end sectors.
  • Hours. A full-day daycare costs more than a three-hour preschool session.
  • Ratio and staffing. More adults per child means a higher wage bill.
  • Meals. Cooked meals on site add cost, and some centres charge separately.
  • Space and facilities. Outdoor play areas, activity rooms and air-conditioning all cost money.
  • Brand. Chains and franchises may charge for their curriculum and materials.

Ask each centre what the fee covers. A good answer lists it plainly: "Fees include snacks and lunch, materials and the daily updates. Transport and after-hours care are extra."

The one-time and hidden costs

The yearly fee is rarely the whole story. Ask about each of these:

ChargeWhat to ask
Admission feeIs it one-time? Is any of it refundable?
Registration feeIs it adjusted against fees if you enrol?
Security depositWhen and how is it returned?
Annual or development chargeIs it charged every year?
MealsIncluded, or charged monthly?
TransportPer month or per term? Fixed or by distance?
Late pickupPer minute, per hour or per incident?
Activities and eventsAre there extra charges for trips, costumes or classes?
Uniform and booksBought from the centre, or anywhere?

How to budget for the first year

Work out the true first-year cost for each centre on your shortlist. It's simple:

  1. Take the annual fee (or monthly fee × 12).
  2. Add every one-time charge: admission, registration, deposit.
  3. Add meals, transport and any late-pickup hours you'll realistically need.
  4. Add a small buffer for events and supplies.

Then compare totals, not monthly fees. A centre with a lower monthly fee but a large admission fee can cost more in year one.

Remember the second year too. Ask whether fees rise each year and by how much. Ask what you'd pay if you moved from half-day to full-day.

Fee isn't everything

It's easy to let price lead. Try to keep it as one factor among several. Safety, staff, ratio and your child's happiness matter more over a full year.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average preschool fee in Gurgaon?

Kiddenz's Gurgaon listings show a median annual fee of about ₹55,400. The range runs from roughly ₹16,000 to ₹2 lakh a year. Your area, the hours you need and what's included will move the number a lot.

Why are fees in some sectors so much higher?

Rent is likely part of it, since space costs more in high-end sectors. Centres there may also offer longer hours or more facilities. On Kiddenz, Sector 51's median is about ₹1.1 lakh, while Sector 92's is about ₹32,400.

Is the admission fee refundable?

It depends on the centre, and many admission fees are not. Ask before you pay, and get the answer in writing. Registration fees and security deposits often have different rules, so ask about each.

Should I pay preschool fees yearly or monthly?

Yearly can be cheaper if there's a discount, but it's harder to leave. Monthly or quarterly gives you flexibility in the first year while you see how your child settles. Check the refund policy either way.
