Sectors 45 to 51 are among the densest clusters of daycares and preschools in Gurgaon. Kiddenz lists close to 30 centres per sector. If you live in Sector 50 or nearby, you'll have plenty of choice within a short drive. The challenge is comparing them fairly, because so many look similar from the outside.

How many centres are there?

Here's what Kiddenz lists for this cluster:

SectorCentres listed (Kiddenz)Median annual fee (Kiddenz)
Sector 51about 30about ₹1.1 lakh
Sector 50about 29not listed here
Sector 46about 28not listed here
Sector 45about 27not listed here

That's well over 100 centres listed across four sectors. Directories don't catch every centre, so the real number may be higher.

For comparison, the median across all of Gurgaon on Kiddenz is about ₹55,400 a year. Sector 51's median is roughly double that.

What fees look like here

Sector 51's median of about ₹1.1 lakh a year puts it towards the upper end of the city. Kiddenz's citywide range runs from about ₹16,000 to ₹2 lakh, so you'll still find centres well above and below the median.

A budget example nearby: a franchise preschool in Sector 41, listed on SchoolsUniverse, charges about ₹35,000 a year with about ₹5,000 for admission. It shows how much fees can vary within a few kilometres.

Fees differ for many reasons: hours, meals, ratio, space and rent. Our guide to preschool and daycare fees in Gurgaon explains what drives the price and how to work out the full first-year cost.

Lots of choice: how to narrow it down

With 25 to 30 centres per sector, you can't visit them all. Here's a way to get from a long list to a short one.

  1. Set your radius. Decide the furthest you'll drive twice a day. For many families, that's their own sector and the next one or two.
  2. Filter by hours. Cross off centres whose timings don't fit your workday, including late pickup.
  3. Filter by type. Do you need full-day daycare, a morning preschool, or both? See preschool vs daycare.
  4. Filter by budget. Ask for the full first-year cost before you visit, not after.
  5. Visit three or four. Go at a busy time of day.

Then compare them on the same terms with our side-by-side scorecard.

What to check on a visit

Use our complete checklist for choosing a daycare everywhere. In this cluster, a few points deserve extra care.

Centres in houses and builder floors

You're likely to see centres in converted homes alongside purpose-fitted buildings. Both can work well. In a house, ask:

  • Are stairs gated and balconies and terraces locked?
  • Where is the second exit?
  • Is the outdoor play area fully enclosed and shaded?
  • Are the toilets child-sized and close to the play rooms?

Drop-off on residential roads

Inner sector roads can get busy at drop-off time, with cars and vans stopping at several centres on one street.

  • Is there a safe place to stop, away from moving traffic?
  • Does a staff member receive children at the gate?
  • If the centre offers transport, who drives and is there an attendant?

Telling similar centres apart

When many centres offer similar facilities, look at the people and the routine.

  • How do teachers speak to a child who's upset? Do they kneel and listen?
  • How long have the lead teachers worked here?
  • What does a normal day look like, hour by hour?
  • How are incidents reported to parents? A good answer: "We call you for anything beyond a minor bump, and write every incident in a log you can see."

Use the same questions on every visit so your notes line up.

South City

South City sits next to this cluster, and many families here look across both. The same approach works: set your radius, filter by hours and budget, and visit at a busy time. Don't rule out a centre just because it's across a sector boundary. Distance on the road matters more than the sector number.

Frequently asked questions

How many daycares are there in Sector 50, Gurgaon?

Kiddenz lists about 29 centres in Sector 50. Nearby Sector 51 has about 30, Sector 46 about 28 and Sector 45 about 27. Directories don't list every centre, so there may be more.

What is the average daycare fee in Sector 51?

Kiddenz shows a median of about ₹1.1 lakh a year for Sector 51. That's roughly double the citywide median of about ₹55,400. Individual centres will sit above and below it, so ask each for the full first-year cost.

With so many options, how many should I visit?

Three or four is usually enough. Filter first by distance, hours and budget, then visit at a busy time of day. Score each one on the same list straight after the visit.

Is a more expensive centre better?

Not necessarily. A higher fee may pay for longer hours, meals or more space, or it may reflect rent. Judge the staff, ratio, safety and routine you see on the visit.
