Daycares and preschools on Dwarka Expressway and New Gurgaon

Daycare on Dwarka Expressway and in New Gurgaon: what fees look like, how to judge newly opened centres, and how to plan longer commutes.

By The Kribble team · · 4 min read

Daycare on Dwarka Expressway and in New Gurgaon can cost less than in central Gurgaon. But you may find fewer established options close to home. Many centres here are new. That means checking the basics carefully and planning around longer commutes to the office hubs.

Who this area suits

Dwarka Expressway and New Gurgaon have grown fast, with large new societies and many young families moving in. In newer areas, centres often open as societies fill, so choice near home may be thinner for now.

For parents, that often means:

  • A newer centre near home, with less track record
  • An established centre further away, with a longer drive
  • A daycare near one parent's office, if the commute allows

Our guide to daycare near home or near office helps you weigh these.

What fees look like

Fees here can be lower than in central Gurgaon. On Kiddenz, Sector 92 has a median of about ₹32,400 a year. The median across Gurgaon (officially Gurugram) is about ₹55,400, according to Kiddenz's city listings.

Compare that with Sector 51, where the median is about ₹1.1 lakh. The same type of care can cost very different amounts depending on the neighbourhood.

A lower fee isn't a warning sign by itself. It may simply reflect lower rent. But ask what's included: meals, hours, materials and transport can all be extra. Our guide to preschool and daycare fees in Gurgaon shows how to work out the full first-year cost.

How to judge a newly opened centre

A new centre can be excellent. It just hasn't had time to prove it. Shift your attention from reputation to people and policies.

The people

  • How experienced are the lead teachers? Where did they work before, and for how long?
  • Who is the owner or centre head, and how often are they on site?
  • How are staff trained and background-checked? Ask to see the policy.
  • What's the ratio in your child's room today? Count the adults yourself. Our guide to teacher-to-child ratios explains what to look for.

The building

  • Is it finished? Watch for open wiring, loose fittings or construction next door.
  • Is the outdoor area ready and fully enclosed?
  • Where is the fire exit, and are extinguishers in date?
  • Is drinking water filtered, and is the kitchen clean and separate?

The paperwork

  • Are the sick policy, fee refund policy and incident reporting written down?
  • What registrations does the centre hold? Ask to see them.
  • Is there a pickup authorisation form?

A confident new centre will answer clearly and show you documents without fuss. If answers are vague, or you're rushed through the tour, take note. Our list of daycare red flags covers what to watch for.

Planning the commute

Many parents here work in Cyber City, Udyog Vihar, Golf Course Road or across the border in Delhi. That can mean a long daily drive.

  • Choose the centre around the parent who does pickups. Their route and hours matter most.
  • Check the latest pickup time and how late pickup is charged.
  • Plan for sick days. If you're an hour away, who can reach your child at midday?
  • Ask about transport. Who drives, is there an attendant, and how long is the longest ride?

If both parents commute far, a centre near home with an extended day may suit you better than one near the office.

Questions specific to growing areas

  • Will the centre stay where it is? Some start in a temporary space and plan to move. Ask.
  • How many children are enrolled now, and how many will there be? A small group can grow quickly as societies fill.
  • Will the staffing grow with it? Ask how they'll keep the ratio as numbers rise.

A quick plan

  1. Shortlist centres near home and near your main commute route.
  2. Visit at least three, at a busy time of day.
  3. Use the same questions on every visit.
  4. Follow our complete checklist for choosing a daycare.
  5. Try a day before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Are daycares on Dwarka Expressway cheaper?

They can be. On Kiddenz, Sector 92 has a median of about ₹32,400 a year, compared with about ₹55,400 across Gurgaon. Check what's included before comparing, since meals and transport may be extra.

Is it risky to choose a daycare that just opened?

Not necessarily, but you have less track record to go on. Focus on the lead teachers' experience, written policies and the ratio you see. A trial day helps a lot.

Should I choose a daycare near home if I work far away?

Often that's the practical choice, especially if the centre has an extended day. Think about who can reach your child quickly on a sick day. Being an hour away from a poorly toddler is hard.

What if there's no good daycare near my society yet?

Widen your radius a little, or look at centres along your commute. Ask your society whether residents are planning one, and keep checking as new centres open.
